Our Story
Founded in 1998, Gatiko Company began as a small-scale livestock farming initiative aimed at supplying quality cattle to local markets in Laikipia County. Over time, increasing demand for beef, climate challenges, and changing market requirements pushed the company to evolve and innovate.
In the mid-2000s, Gatiko transitioned into commercial feedlot operations, enabling better control of animal health, nutrition, and weight gain. This move significantly improved consistency and quality. The company also invested in fodder production, reducing reliance on seasonal grazing and ensuring year-round feed availability.
