What Farmers & Partners Say
Real voices from the farmers, conservancies, and communities that have been transformed through Gatiko's support programs.
I have been working with Gatiko feedlot and what I have learned from them, I wish I had known 30 years ago. The efficient fattening techniques and modern livestock management systems have been truly transformative.
What I learned from Gatiko Feedlot is very important to our community. We are now trying to move away from keeping cattle for 4–5 years and instead adopt more efficient finishing systems. The involvement of women from our group ranch has been truly transformative.
I learned about feedlotting at Gatiko and started my own operation in Isiolo. With ongoing technical guidance I now achieve daily weight gains of up to 1.2kg per animal. I'm lucky to have learned market access strategies and how to source from Moyale market.
While working at Segera Ranch, I have learned practical feedlot beef production techniques from Gatiko Feedlot. I have learned how to produce quality beef at the ranch within a short time — incredibly valuable knowledge.
Gatiko Company works closely with communities associated with Loisaba Conservancy, creating a mutually beneficial partnership model. Their flexible approach allows community members to retain animals for growth while those above 280kg are transferred to Gatiko's feedlot.
We as the youth and women from Likii and Majengo have gained valuable employment at Gatiko Feedlot, which employs over 70 people. We pray for the directors to expand to create 150 jobs and reduce unemployment in our area.
Building a Stronger Livestock Community
Through knowledge transfer, quality partnerships, and community empowerment, Gatiko is transforming livestock management across Kenya. Our farmer support programmes create ripple effects that go far beyond a single farm.
From conservancies in Laikipia to pastoralist communities in the north, we are building a network of skilled, empowered, and market-connected farmers who are changing what's possible in Kenya's beef sector.
Gatiko Company currently partners with farmers, conservancies, and agri-businesses across Laikipia, Isiolo, Samburu, and neighbouring ASAL counties — providing hands-on support that is grounded in real feedlot expertise.
Our community-first approach has led to new feedlot operations being started by farmers we trained, meaningful employment for local youth and women, and stronger market connections for smallholder cattle keepers across the region.
