Feedlot
Operations
A structured, science-based finishing program that transforms sourced cattle into premium, market-ready beef — consistently and efficiently.
Precision Feeding for Premium Results
Our feedlot at Nanyuki operates a structured 90–120 day finishing program for sourced cattle. Every animal receives a carefully balanced ration of silage, concentrates, and minerals designed to maximise weight gain while maintaining health and welfare.
All cattle are individually tagged and weighed on arrival and at regular intervals throughout the program — giving us full traceability and performance data from day one to market.
Our Feedlot Process
Arrival & Quarantine
Cattle are weighed, tagged, and held in quarantine pens for 7–14 days. Health screening, deworming, and vaccination are completed before animals enter the main feedlot.
Transition Feeding
Animals are gradually introduced to high-energy rations over 2–3 weeks, allowing the rumen to adapt and reducing the risk of acidosis or bloat during the finishing phase.
Full Finishing Program
Cattle receive a balanced TMR (Total Mixed Ration) of maize silage, sorghum, concentrates, and mineral supplements twice daily. Performance is tracked weekly by weight.
Market Dispatch
At target weight and condition score, cattle are selected for sale. Buyers include leading processors, abattoirs, and institutional buyers across Kenya.
Feedlot Services & Capabilities
Cattle Intake & Tagging
Every animal entering the feedlot is weighed, photographed, and assigned a unique ear tag for full traceability throughout the finishing program and into the market.
Balanced Ration Feeding
Scientifically formulated rations using our own silage, sorghum, and concentrate blends — calibrated to body weight and target daily gain for each pen of animals.
Veterinary Health Protocols
Daily health checks by trained staff, with a resident vet conducting regular inspections. Vaccination, deworming, and treatment records are maintained for all animals.
Weight & Performance Tracking
Animals are weighed every 14–21 days. Data is recorded per animal and per pen, enabling real-time adjustments to rations and early identification of underperforming stock.
Water & Welfare Management
Clean water is available ad libitum at all times. Pen design, stocking density, and shade provision follow international cattle welfare guidelines.
Market-Ready Supply
Finished cattle are supplied to processors, supermarkets, hotels, and abattoirs on agreed schedules — enabling buyers to plan procurement with confidence.
Quality & Animal Welfare at Every Step
We believe that well-managed, healthy animals produce the best beef. Our feedlot protocols are designed to optimise performance without compromising animal welfare or product integrity.
No Growth Hormones
All cattle are finished naturally — no artificial growth promotants are used at any stage.
Individual Animal Records
Full health and performance records maintained per animal from arrival to dispatch.
Consistent Ration Quality
Feed is sourced from our own fodder operations, ensuring nutritional consistency throughout the year.
Processor-Ready Standards
Our cattle meet the specifications of Kenya's leading beef processors and institutional buyers.
